Rooftop Smokehouse's smoked pastrami can be served in just a few minutes. The 100g format comes sliced, and the product information sheet recommends steaming it to achieve a more tender texture.
How to steam the pastrami
- Bring water to a boil in a pot.
- Place a colander over the pot, ensuring it does not touch the water.
- Arrange the pastrami slices in the colander.
- Warm the product until it reaches your preferred texture and temperature.
The goal is to warm it with steam, not to cook or submerge the slices.
What to serve it with
The combination recommended by Rooftop is bread, mustard, and pickles. You can adjust the serving style depending on the occasion:
- Sandwich: sourdough bread, warm pastrami, mustard, and pickles.
- Appetizer: small portions of pastrami with mustard and a pickle.
- Board: pastrami, smoked cheddar, and a selection of fermented and pickled items.
Which format to choose
The 100g smoked pastrami is the entry-level size for home use or an initial tasting. In our Professional Formats collection, you can view larger presentations and check their availability.
Ingredients and storage of the 100g format
The product contains beef, spices, brown sugar, salt, and preservative E-250. Includes MUSTARD and may contain traces of MILK, FISH, GLUTEN, and SULPHITES. It must be kept refrigerated between 0ºC and 4ºC and consumed within 5 days of opening.
Comparing 100g, 500g, and whole piece without confusing quantity and cut
The 100g format and the 500g format are sliced. The latter contains five times the amount of the former. The piece of approximately 2 kg allows for cutting when serving; its weight is approximate. A whole piece is not the most convenient choice if you need slices ready for a single dish.
Before choosing, decide how many servings you will prepare and how you will store the product once opened. The package size alone does not determine the number of servings: an appetizer and a full sandwich use different amounts.

Mistakes to avoid
- Do not submerge the slices to steam them: the colander should remain above the water.
- Do not confuse the approximate weight of the piece with an exact grammage.
- Do not assume the sandwich is safe for an allergy without also checking the bread, mustard, cheese, and accompaniments.
