Smoked bacon and egg sandwich

The sandwich in the Rooftop video combines smoked bacon, egg, bread, and butter. The pan work and the bread assembly are two distinct parts of the preparation; it is not a matter of placing bacon directly from the package onto a piece of toast.

What the assembly shows

  1. The base: a slice of bread is prepared next to an open block of butter.
  2. Hot work: a frying pan is used next to the assembly area.
  3. The filling: the ingredient prepared in the pan is transferred to the bread, and the sandwich is closed.
  4. The presentation: the final result is shown with bacon and egg visible; the Rooftop bacon and butter packages appear next to the plate.

The clip lasts about thirty-three seconds and does not document quantities per sandwich, portion sizes, or cooking times for the bacon and egg. It is a visual reference for assembly, not a complete cooking guide.

Choosing the bacon

The sliced smoked bacon is sold pre-cut. Check the product sheet and the packaging for information on the format and its preparation before serving. Being smoked and being ready to eat without cooking are not equivalent.

The smoked butter is another ingredient in the assembly. To learn about the bacon comparison criteria, see the documentary comparison of Rooftop bacon and sliced bacon: this is not a tasting of this sandwich.

Ingredients and storage

The combination contains EGG and MILK. Also, check the bread's allergens, the ingredients, and traces in the bacon and any condiments. Store the remaining packages according to their respective labels; the shelf life of a package does not apply to the assembled sandwich.

For another hot assembly with meat, see the DIY Pastrami sandwich. The ingredients and the prior processing of the product are different.
